Sentence to Paragraph Writing  Grades: 6-8 – Rachel Celsor
Sentence to Paragraph Writing is a fundamental approach, which starts with composing well written, basic sentences, and then quickly moves to developing a single paragraph paper. The class will begin with improving sentence structure by applying basic grammar and figures of speech. This emphasis is continued as the student learns the organizational process of brainstorming, outlining, rough draft, and editing, resulting in a well written paragraph. Weekly assignments are posted at Basic Structured Writing  The student will need to purchase the worksheets ebook, which will cost $20 per year.  The student will also need 2 self-addressed stamped envelopes, a 3-ring binder (2 – 3 inch), 5+ hi-liters, 8 notebook divider tabs, a Bible, a thesaurus, and a dictionary. It is recommended that homework be typed; however, it is not required. While this is not a literature course, a reading list will be provided either to be read independently or as a family. There will be no tests on the books. Class size is limited to 15 students. Class time will be 1 hour and 30 minutes per week. Allow approximately 2 hours per week of study time. There will be 10 payments of $40/each for the class.  Make all checks payable to Rachel Celsor and mail to (in care of Debbie Gott) to 9614 Dornoch Drive, Spring, TX 77379  Contact: coloratura [at] sbcglobal [dot] net   281-356-3556 or 281-635-4810
